Early Product & Design
I started my career building an online incubator for student entrepreneurs, inspired by the results of our offline program at the incubation centers to accept applications across India. I was part of the product team, building SV.CO, (my first digital product) experimenting and learning from a great PM & CTO.
3 years down, looking at so many iterations of entrepreneurs building different products, & their journey of building together, I was inspired to build, and started honing my design skills building short blogs with Tymline, a pet project that made many firsts for me. I made many mistakes, as a designer, as a builder and kept learning the art of building. I studied Product Design, by implementing, experimenting for various iterations and improved my design skills, and started consulting under my agency, Coalition House.
Agency & Startup
By Helping cab drivers file ITRs online, the org could do 35x their offline business. When I was designing a new SaaS model for rentals, the research helped the founder redefine their model for India. I built a Data collection PWA for a health-care NGO, after studying their processes on-ground. Building a bite-sized learning app for founders is my second EdTech product. I worked closely with founders & their product teams, learning across various sectors, industries, building for different users, helping Seed - Series A fundraising.
I explored cofounding an NLiDB SaaS product, Imux building my first B2B product 0-1 and secured a seed funding from an AI Accelerator. I studied Data Analytics, Visualisation, NLP, various competitive products and designed Imux MVP & 1st version and took the product to our first customers.
Scale & Partnerships
As a Senior PM at OnePlus, I joined the OxygenOS team at their software R&D Center in India & later with OneLab Studio, a global team for product planning & new initiatives for the OS; I built Charging Stations feature, revamped Shelf from ground up creating a platform for 3rd party developers to build their services on Shelf using SDK & APIs. I also scaled the on-device search Scout from India to global markets NA, EU, SEA etc, with a unique user experience to search across 3rd party app pages, a first in any mobile OS.
I collaborated with product teams from Snapchat, Netflix, Google, Zomato, Swiggy and many others for brainstorming and creating new concepts to implement in the consumer tech space. Revamping Shelf led me to venture a collaboration with Spotify to integrate their music player on Shelf. One of many ideas that came to reality is this favorite feature collaboration of mine: Food delivery updates on AOD screen! I collaborated with Zomato & Swiggy, the top two market leaders (& competitors) in India to showcase their order delivery status updates on AOD (locked idle screen). This feature was widely applauded, and later implemented across other mobile OS in the market.
I further worked with Zomato & Blinkit to introduce their cards to Shelf widget ecosystem in OxygenOS15 and more collaborations coming soon.
<!> No Code
For a very long time (though I learnt how to code, but never earned by code after college) I used to think my skillset as a Product (& Design) person are scoped due to less visibility at how services function deep-down. I used to build web pages & code FE for some of my projects, worked on SDK documentation & APIs. But, recently I tried my hands on no-code development and after not-so-much-time, I was able to build a console & a web app for a writer studio, enabling secure script sharing for writers. This project was entirely built by me, from building DBs, Workflows, UI/UX, Product etc. It was a fascinating journey! This project made me realise that building an MVP or a v1 of your next idea is now a lot faster. What ideally could've taken us an 8-month, took just two! (including first-time learning)
This led to me building (WIP) a marketplace SaaS for the film industry, ProStudio, for Talent discovery & Auditions, built entirely on no-code!
A look back..
From Product Ops, self-learning UI UX Design, consulting Product Design, to Product Management at a consumer-tech contributing to their R&D, Partnerships, Strategy, to No-code Development building products holistically & handling other product functions during releases: I feel accomplished & proud gaining the ability to handle most key product functions in the SDLC / product life cycle!
I believe in craft & I hit dopamine creating something new. I am a builder.
To a future of building challenging Products! 🚀
